Glad to hear Raceface is still around making quality components, I was a sales rep for them 25 or so years ago.
Brother they r on the go with top notch quality and technology. I love all their offerings. The Turebine R rear wheel I bought had a massive hub and bearings and the freewheel hub has 60 teeth with 6 split pawls for a total of 12 and 120 points of engagement!! Thing sounds like a buzzsaw when u quit pedaling!!

I have Raceface cranks on two of my bikes and they hold up to some pretty abusive riding

I tried their Atlas pedals on my carbon fiber ride because they were about the lightest full size flat pedal and I didn’t like them until I got some of the new Shimano shoes with the softer Michelin tread and it was a whole new world of grip

Their stuff is worth the $
Yes sir! I agree

I've seen Rotella work. Ready-Mix trucks, dump trucks, dozers, backhoes, loaders... we never had a failure of any sort in 25 years. But mobil one on the other hand, I've been into Chevy 350s where carbon was caked under the intake manifold an inch thick. My own truck. Run on mobil one from day one. Sometimes old school is better
Rotella is that good. It’s all I use in diesel fleet. Oil consumption is next to nothing compared to other barrels I’ve used in the past. Don’t care much how it’s formulated it just works

Have you ever had any UOAs done on your fleet oil? Have you compared Rotella to sny other oils?

You don't always have to read a piece of paper to know that something works. I've gone through 20 or 30 drums of that stuff without seeing a failure. Trucks that are worked hard 6 days a week for 10 to 12 hours each day

Funny thing Kevin, is I thought it was working too. I trusted Rotella....... Until I got the UOA back. The UOAs are not end all, be all, but they tell you what's going on inside the motor that one would never know UNTIL something happens. Just speaking for myself, but I feel much better running Mobil 1, knowing exactly what's going on inside my motor.
I know I am splitting hairs, but I think it is well worth it.

I really don't think you do know what's going on inside though. The stuff that I have pulled apart that was caked full of carbon was cleaned up 3000 miles later by Rotella and the inside of the motor was then spotless. That truck had 68,000 miles on it when the camshaft went out, which was normal for that series of truck. Mobile one didn't make it last longer or shorter, it was just caked up underneath the intake manifold. I doubt an oil analysis would show that it was doing that.

UOAs show wear metals going around on the inside of the motor. Don't knock them until you try them. LOL
That being said, some motors do well on different oils. I am just speaking of my own observations with Mobil 1 and a Duramax motor. Several other friends have also noted the same results.

I'm not trying to change your mind, Jeff. I just know what I've seen and it's hard to go back to it. Even though I'm sure the oil is improved since then. I've had it in my hand at the store before and ended up putting it back a couple times. Sometimes we trust what we trust because it makes us feel warm and fuzzy inside so we roll with it

I honestly love oil threads as well

All the joking and off topic banter aside, there is always something to learn from these threads about tuning and suitability of different oils in different applications

I tend to overthink things and this is a good way to indulge that tendancy

Which Rotella had the less than desirable UOA ? The dino , the syn blend or full syn ?
