Oh I agree, just posting thoughts on what needs to be checked closely for him before putting it back together and having a problem show up.
Absolutely. I know I’ve mistakenly forgot to inspect key components after I found a smoking gun problem elsewhere. Bitter Lesson learned.

Whats up fellow 288 etc addicts.

Where are you guys buying new A/V buffers? I know I can get OEM, but I have used some aftermarket buffers with good success. Looking to see where you guys have found some good deals on them.

Do yourself a favor and save and get the oem, check local dealers, they are cheaper the you might think
I would. But we're in Ireland here. They aren't available at all. :( There is nothing wrong with my ported 281 top end, other than the fact it is impossible to turn over for my replacement on the farm. So I was hoping to get a working decomp in it. Machine work here is hit and miss and expensive, so simply tapping isn't really an option.

Ireland you say? Get with @ajschainsaws, I have shipped him.many saws and parts;) we can get this taken care of

Andrew is actually a personal friend of mine. I'll give him a shout. I did try a different route just now, though. Turns out Husqvarna still makes that top end. But you have to give them a date of 2017 or 2018 and not tell them the actual date of your saw. It comes up as a replacement. We're checking right now to see if it is a complete top end. The price, BTW, is nearly $400 USD and it has to come from Portugal I think he said(2 hours away by plane here).

Sup buddy?
Hey DJ, hows things? Your jeep project sounds like it's coming along nicely.
I've just been working. Feeling pretty burnt out as of late. Tons of stuff to get done and quickly running out of time.

I would seriously consider getting the oem top end from Dustin. His price will be great, and nothing beats the oem top end.
