It looks like the panhandle of Florida is about to get pummeled.
My son and DIL just moved into a new house they built, on the water, just E of Pensacola.
My son is in Afghanistan until next May. My DIL packed up the kids and left yesterday afternoon.
Hopefully they're far enough to the West that the impact will be minimal.
For anyone in the direct path, my thoughts and prayers are with you.............hunker down and stay safe y'all.

Hope they are OK, even we are going to get several more inches of rain from this mess. I think that @USMC615 Jason is in the middle of all this mess, I hope everyone comes this through OK!

( Prayers be with you! )

Hope everything turns out alright. It got rough here in South Georgia last night but it wasn't as bad as hurricane Irma. I still don't have any power and I have a couple of trees down but it could have been much much worse

From what I'm seeing, you're about to get hit again.
I hope Jason @USMC615 made it through unscathed.

@srb08 and @amberg ...Steve and Charlie, we made it through with no property/home/shop damage and no big trees down. Lost power half a dozen times but was back on in no time. It was some hellacious wind and rain throughout Wednesday night and early Thurs morning. The base and flightline were closed yesterday and had to cut up and haul 7 or 8 wheelbarrow loads of small limbs to the road.

A lot of counties in Ga as well as Fla just got tore up as we've all seen on the news. Lots of families and folks lost everything. Still tons of folks without power. Heard at one point early Thurs morning there were around 450,000 in Ga alone without power. I think it's down to less than 100,000 now.

That was a badass, low mb pressure hurricane no doubt. I feel for the families of the lives that were lost and those that lost everything!

Glad to see you made it through this mess unharmed, and with very little damage. We had lots off flooding here again, ( every week I think ). There were several tornado's near Richmond, one of which was near where the daughter lives which put a tree limb through the window of her brand new car and smashed up her two roommates cars also. Don't think it hurt the house much, they have no idea when they will get the power back on, there are so many people with out power up here also. What a damn mess!!!

...hope the DIL and kids are ok as well Steve!

Thanks guys. They went up to Montgomery and spent the night with friends. They were back home yesterday. No damage to the house. The storm was far enough to the East that they missed the full impact. They cleared all of the potentially dangerous trees when they built the house. Others around them not so lucky but nothing like what they had in Panama City.

We got pounded by a monsoon like storm from Michael -- then the power went out. Some folks in this larger area
still have no power. We lost ours for 24 hours. You never know how much you need it till its OFF. Then everything
comes to a halt!

The daughter emailed some pics. of the car last night after the power came back on, it doesn't even have 900 miles on it yet. Dealer towed it in yesterday to access the damage, can't wait to see what figure they come up with. :(
