So the 625/630/670 has got to be my favorite series of saws. They are simple, rugged and really keep up pretty damn good with the new stuff!
The 625 is an open port 60cc saw.
The 630 is a closed port 60cc saw that had ks and mahle cylinders. I have timed both and both have been very close.
The 670 is the big daddy closed port 67cc both of mine are mahle but I believe Gilardoni made them as well.

I currently have the saw tore down soaking in parts cleaner. This will also be real time and I'm gonna need to order some parts so it will be slow!
Here is the cylinder I'm working with

My favorite saw to build too. I have a few from 625 to 670 and blends of huskys too. If you need some stuff i may be able to share/spare s couple things. Ive gotten things payed forward to me from here and should probably do the same.

Thanks! I think I'm going to build this extra spicy for maybe a just for fun/GTG saw. But for now, bearings, seals, o rings, gaskets, impulse, fuel line and filter, intake boot, carb kit, meteor piston ect.
I'm also thinking about a 266 p&c in my 630 just because it's a direct swap

I have one with a 266 topend and i cant tell the difference with it and a 670 topend. I too feel like the 266 268cp 630 and 670 all run better then the 272. Or atleast sportier and more free.

If I could post videos I'd post one on how well they run! I'm shooting to disappoint a 372 or 2! I know it can be done!

Loaded with a 24" or longerbar burried the 272 will pull ahead.

Do you have to space those bears or just slide them on till they stop?
On the older ones I slide them on the crank first and then they sit flush on the inside of the case. On the newer ones I install the bearing on the case first because they have a stop.

This is where I need a little help timed the ports without base gasket.
Ex. 107
Trans. 123.5
Intake 71.5

Now I am thinking about leaving the transfers and taking the exhaust up to 103 and maybe intake to 78? Any thoughts appreciated!

No need to go larger duration on the intake than on the exhaust. It's only going to reduce your crankcase compression.
