I have never ran a 462. Curious how it compares to a 7910. Have a friend that claims his 462 is going to cut circles around my 7910. Any truth to that claim? I have my doubts that it's going to run away from the 7910. But we will see if he ever makes it out to run side by side.

I figure the 462 is probably lighter, but is possible that it's as strong or stronger than the dolmar? Or is it going to be like the 362 vs 620p and be another over hyped saw.

Either way, feelings will be hurt

Hahahaha my feelings won't be hurt if he is right, but if he's wrong he will be a hurting puppy.

Not really worried about it. My 7910 owes me nothing after four years and is a very loose and strong running saw. His is new and tight only a year or so on it.

That's what he says. Don't know where he got it, but he's a service tech at a good size stihl dealer. I'm going to guess he has less than six tanks through it. City guy who probably only burns a gallon of mix a year.

Now your gonna need to send the 7910 out to have ported to do the comparison :b1:.

Maybe in few years I can start adding a couple more properly ported saws to my collection. Not in the budget for right now. The 372 that walkers did and the 2159 that t4driller (Mike) did are awesome. Wouldn't mind having a few more like them around.

My 7900 with a few basic mods any idiot could do was a tick faster than a well ported 460 fooling around at a gtg. That opened my eyes. I doubt a 462 or 572 is faster. It is kind of unfair from a displacement standpoint to compare them however. The dolkitas are decievingly fast. They feel slow because they are so smooth, but the cut times showed otherwise for me. But what do I know? I could be wrong. Lol
