Two 288s will seperate or sell as a pair. One that says Dave belonged to a friend who passed away. I ran it for a few years of and on, until last year when a cylinder bolt backed out, and sheared fins off the flywheel. Still runs strong, but have not run since. Case on clutch side upper side was cracked and welded before I got it. Weld job has held and good weld. Piston has some mild score. What I could see of cylinder looked good suprisingly. Picture did not turn out well though. It would be a good builder saw. Or someone on a budget minimum replace flywheel. These things are tough it's still got life. The 300 anniversary one is pretty clean and low hour. I did not put to many hours on it. Got it from owner of my saw shops, brother. A retired caller. It sat in his garage. Took him 3 years to finally sell it to me it has a crack in clutch cover toward rear. And may have what appears to be a tiny crack on handle at bottom. Thought maybe it was in the molding. My eyes can't tell 100 percent. Looks like small crack, if so it will not lose strength or affect performance. Just had that saw gone thru at shop, 150 psi compression, they said p&c all good. Replaced fuel line, filter, did carb kit and replaced air filter. This saw is low hour and a horse. Its a good solid machine. Strongest 288 I have run. We are coming off a bankruptcy, latest tree jobs covered, and had to come up with cash to keep my truck. We have registration, and truck payment due. Did not want to sell any saws, but trying to get ahead of paycheck to paycheck. But can't complain Jesus has turned life around for us, and our cup overflows with blessings.
