The worst saw I noodled with is any stihl 1128 series with the standard cover. The cover itself is too small and the metal catcher doesn’t help. The west coast cover + roller catch seems to be the solution. I put a roller catch on my 562 and it clears noodles fantastic. Need to put one on 7900 next.

Do they have a roller for them?

Imho they all suck with the metal catcher. The chain gets fd up when it’s thrown and it clogs the chips. Just another measure by the manufacturers to save $.

The stihl roller catch is what guys are retrofitting to them I think

I'll have to check that out. My dogs have a hole in them for a roller
I have a couple set up with the Stihl roller catch. Just installed them, and haven’t ran the saws, with them on, yet. Looks like it’s gonna work great, though.
You’ll just need a shorter screw for the lower spike mount. The catcher and spike use the same screw, and when you take the catcher off, it’s a little too long.
