I've had leaded fuel deposits bridge the sparkplug gap. I tried 110 octane race fuel while looking for an alternative to the *s-wordty pump gas that was available. Only had it happen in one saw so it coulda been a freak thing....

Most likely an improper avgas mix that was low or missing ethylene dibromide, which is an additive that combats lead fouling. Typically airports will sell low grade or off grade fuel for cheap with the stipulation for non-aviation use.

Trying to redenck save the damaged 025 case for the owner. Couple folks in the chainsaw repair group told me they have had success doing this. Then case replacement wasnt needed.
So thought I would share here.

Pump, case, connector, o-rings were all damaged in that area.

Had to order everything new, drum, clutch, worm gear etc etc etc.

Monroeton Dandy has decent E-free. Not particularly convenient to get to, but it's within range.

Yeah I used the race fuel back when e free wasn't available. I usually grab it at Wells Mills in wysox now.

A buddy of mine dairy farms, and gets bulk 'farm grade' gasoline that is non-taxed, e-free 87 octane. He's offered for me to come get a couple gallons next time I need mix, and I'm thinking I'll take him up on the offer when my current batch is out (which is soon).

Heres a shot of some epic farm and ranch badassery.

Turns out, the 455 had nothing more than an oil tank full of sticks and twigs and seeds keeping it from oiling. Flush the tank, clean out the lines and just need to replace the seriously roached out bar and chain and it's ready to rumble!

Order a new pickup from Husqvarna, it's been redesigned and it won't do that again. ;)

My son and I got our 371xp out this morning to cut firewood in preparation for winter and it started acting funny, acting like it was running out of fuel. Grabbed another saw to cut with. So far I checked the tank vent (all good) fuel filter (all good) I'm wondering if it sat long enough this summer for the carb to get gummy or something because it's not really acting like it wants to take adjusting to well
