Quote all of the above:D good info and i think i may just seal it up as best i can and leave it for now. I have another issue rite now. So its about 30 degrees cool this morning compared to the last time i used my 351/346. Im tryin to tune this carb so i can do some cutting. I want to run it fat cuz it still only has about 4 tanks through it. My problem is that with the H closed all the way its still pushing 13,800 on the tach. These carbs baffle me. Just dont wanna toast it. Does any one have the cliff notes on carb tuning? Lol! Its about 57 degrees at 620' level. And im only 3/4 turn out on L. I did notice this though. Dont know if this normal???image.jpg

Here's a pic of Randy's beautiful port work on a 359 I believe. I kinda used it as a guide and my 353 runs pretty darn good.

Got it fellas! So if you have too high of a RPMs on the top and you add fuel to the H and that brings it down. It's for stroking hard at about
12 ,800 now at about 1 1/2 turns out on H. It gains RPMs when it's too lean! That was my problem! I am learning one burnt piston at a time! Thanks for gettin my wheels crankin! My brain was at a stand still and i only brought one saw. Failure was not an option option:D

Sounds about right. You should be around a full turn out on both +/-.

Open the H lol.
It was open about 1 turn to begin with and was maxing the tach. I wont tell u what it went to;) i thought the more u open the H the higher the RPM. Its just the opposite! More fuel captain! Im gettin good at this stuff! Anyone want me to build them a sawo_O JK. I got to go cut some fallen timber now. After an hr of prep time. Lol! U know u have CAD when the only saw u bring is from 1999 and i got like 4 newer echos at home that run like a top. SMH:eek:

Husky 61. Tank is cracked, handle broken, throttle trigger broken, muffler has silicon on it. Compression feels a bit low, but it starts.
Feels like it needs mounts. Has some missing screws and some mix and match screws.
Just picked it up for $20 from a guy whom I think is Atilla the chainsaw hun.
But, I think I can make a decent second cousin to go with my J-red 630v.

Look what came today..... Yes, I definitely have CAD !!!!o_O
Brought them off our own Craigslist equivalent (Trademe). Origin is unknown but the listing said 'Ex Infrastructure company' so I'm presuming Ex tree service. A reasonably tidy MS362C-M with a cracked and epoxyed up top cover, A rough MS461 with really good compression and a MS440 that runs Ok but seems a bit down on compression. All saws start and run nicely but need superficial stuff. I had to pay around $620NZD each for these saws (Around $400USD) which is a good deal here in the middle of the big puddle. A new MS362C-M retails for $1,995NZD and a MS461 $2,395NZD.
