I've seen those skidsteer splitters. I think it would make sense in two applications. First is where there's a LOT of wood to split and the other is where the rounds are large. I believe you can grab the round and move it to where you want the splits to be?
What's one about the size of yours run $? (I realize there will be differences brandwise and so forth, just looking for a ball park.) Also, it doesn't require high flow hydraulics, does it?

I think about $3000
This one is a 30in version. 5x30in cylinder
No high flow needed.
Ya you can grab it and take it to pile and split it there.
It worked awesome [emoji106]

Lovely sewer call today. We do a few a week but usually they don't flood the basement 6" before the homeowner "smells" it.
In case you are wondering, that's turds and toilet paper floating around. Actually saw some corn in there[emoji2957]

Took Groundi in for cataract surgery and then worked on my Altec chipper to figure out why it was pretending to be on fire right towards the completion of a job yesterday. Turns out a coolant fitting failed. It's a fitting that has three hoses going to it and of course they're different sizes. Probably going to have to go to a plumbing store and get all Rube Goldberg with it. I also laid a couple of chainsaw carcasses out that are next in line to get built up. Didn't actually work on them though. Ran out of day.

Finally got out to cut some wood. Hadnt been out since last winter. Been so wet in spring and summer and starting to dry up.
Got about 1 full cord cut and split. My son got most the trigger time. And i swung the fiscars with my buddy from work and got it all split and ready to come home but gotta wait for corn to come off.

Iv never been this behind on my firewood.
Gonna go back out sunday and try to get a bunch more cut.

No saws today. Had my buddy bring his tractor to dig up an area for a brick patio. Its actually my second take on it. Tried to dig by hand and couldn't get near deep enough through the clay, but ended up laying them anyway. I ended up tearing it up and starting over. It was actually work for the 'ol Kubota so it wasn't just me being a pansy!

The emerald ash borer is making its way through the area, plenty of ash trees available for removal. Started just after 8:00, finished up a bit before noon.

I only took the bigger stuff, left the smaller for the neighbors fireplace and most of the brush was burned up by the time I left.

Well, today I babysat my Granddaughter in the morning, then did the rear brakes on the Mustang in the afternoon. Real PITA freeing up those calipers after they have lock up. Luckily got some help from my neighbor who has a torch and stuff, and has done it before.

Yesterday worked with my brother on his challenging engineering job (the previous footings/piers were failing). We got down to another section of bed rock, drilled holes, sank rebar, made forms and poured the concrete. Site is finally getting a little safer! My brother often takes jobs no one else will do.

The deck, and house, are about 30' up.

My pops told me this years ago after a brick patio project and I'll pass the info on to you.

"If you do a brick patio or walls for your wife do it in concert. You cant pick that *s-word up and move it over 6 inches " lol.

Getting the wood stove ready. Put a new door gasket on, pulled the baffles and cleaned. Ran brush down the chimney. Just gotta let the gasket glue set for a while tgen put stove baffles in and good for winter.
Gonna maybe go cut a load of fire wood after dinner. Just debating what flavor of saw to run this time lol.

Got out befor the rain and cut up small ash tree and a nice size cherry tree. All split and home just gotta stack it. My 038 must have a bad fuel line or something. Would run good if saw was tipped but ran crappy when saw was horizontal. Figure must be a bad spot at top of tank. I only cut a few mins with it. Didnt wanna ruin it.

Tore apart an old pressure washer with a 6.75 horse tecumseh on it. The pump had failed and I was hoping it had a threaded crankshaft so I could mount it to a lawn mower. No dice but motor still runs but will need carb work. Put it in the shed for now. Thinking it may be a good motor for a possible future log splitter or just leave around so if someone needs a pressure washer engine. Got it and an old push mower for free so no loss really.
