When I worked for the moving company the pay was good, but we often worked like dogs. One WE we had an IBM move into a new building on a Sat +Sun. For some reason, they did not get the CO for the building on time, which required an Operating Engineer for each of the 6 elevators in the bank of elevators.

We were making double time, which was good money, no complaints, but the Operating Engineers not one had a higher pay rate than us, but they were making Triple Time. The elevators were push button, and we often filled them completely with furniture. With no room to get in, they would stand there and say "OK, you can hit the button", and for that, they made much more than we did, and we were killing ourselves (8 am till 2 am, both Sat + Sun, was the most I had ever made in a week in my life). The way it was!!!

I buried my dog Fifi who was one of the very few bright things in my life for almost 2 decades.
He passed away last night.

My brain is trying to cope, he has been with me for almost half my life . . .

Morning gents...same ol’ C-17 song and dance. Heading to low 90’s, little cloudy, decent little breeze coming through the hangars at least.

Very sorry to hear. A good pet becomes family, and it really hurts when you loose one.

However, as my Dad used to say, "Life is for the Living". After a bit of grief, look for a good replacement. No two will ever be the same, but the years of pleasure they provide out weight the day of grief that is, unfortunately, inevitable.

Can't believe someone let a tree that size grow right next to their foundation. I've seen it too many times though...

Surprisingly, it doesn't appear to have damaged the house.

But you're right. I'd never let a tree grow that close to my own house either.

Yesterday was felling and cutting up residential trees. Today was picking Muscadines and Scuppernongs. Making juice now. It's just about ready to can which will take a few hours.

Gettimg some stuff ready for the wood cutting season. Cleaning the echo.

Also picked up the little bush lawn tractor for getting wood out. Head gasket had a chunk blown out of it and smoked like a champ. Just put a new gasket in it and much better but lost the skitter fogger lol.

Sorry to hear. They are just like family. They sure can brighten up a crappy day. Always happy to see you. Never complain. Just a true companion.

Man, that totally sucks. I'm sorry for your loss. That's a tough one. I love my dogs more than anything else.
