Can I ask the attraction to the low cover and filter design is?

None here from me. 60cc saw air filter (same as 262), passes fines and gets dirty faster. I guess some like the lower profile, which is true, but there is hardly a weight difference. Low and high top filter necks are NLA as well for 394. 395 hightop necks fit a 394 with mild modifying.

Cause they just look so much better, they might be NLA most places on the filter necks but I might have a few tucked away, unfortunately more high tops then low, the low top does flow better then the high if your talking about peak performance, but the high does filter a little better. With a good flocked filter and little grease around the lip, I have never had an issue

It doesn’t flow better in my experience. They offer both a flocked and mesh for both filter setups. I tried both. The flocked high top flows better than the flocked low top. The mesh lowtop flows better than flocked high top but passes fines bad. I bet the mesh high top would flow best because of the surface area... but it would probably pass fines too. Not interested in that. I’ll take the flocked high top, good blend of performance and filtering.

To me a high top just feels like a different saw, it's the reason I sold all 3x 395 I have owned, once I got the low tops I have never looked back.

You can even spray the flocked high top filters with k and n filter oil for extreme dusty wood if needed and they will not pass a single fine that I can see. Great filter setup.

Where did you get the low top flows better? Also I doubt you've used yours enough to see how many fines pass...love ya lol

Just what I have seen, when swapping from the high to low tops generally have to adjust the carb to compensate but I have only seen the flocked high top filters, and yeah my saws generally sit way more then I get to use them, truth.
