It says that cover is for all 3.

I'll double check the part number here in a few.

But is it an 670 cover?
the 625,630, 670 are not all the same.

I can tell you what it is not. It's not for a 630 as this is a 630 IPL and it is 503 41 68 03.

670 top cover part number is 503 41 68 01

I THINK a 670 cover will work on a 625 or 630 but not the other way around (taller to clear the cylinder maybe?) so long as you get the correct one for your ignition as the earlier saws were a two piece ignition and the later ones were a one piece.

670 has a slightly taller air filter, hence the need for the taller, less angled air filter cover

It's the same as a 266 and a 268 the front hole is located differently because the 630 has the double coil and module set up and 670 the single modulated coil. Hence the hole is either ahead or behind the starter screw. Plus the height difference.

It would appear that the very latest ones used the same 670 top cover across the line. Might be that the rest were possibly updated with the single modulated coil like the Husqvarna 61 and rumored 266? So possibly a smaller saw could have the same cover?
I will admit the more I look the more confused I get with multiple numbers that surely were surpassed for newer ones and I think Bob should take it from here.

I have one 670 IPL from 1987 that shows the 2pcs coil set-up.
Dont know when they changed to the 1pcs, but from what I read. It was when the changed from the super to the Champ.
