I have some manuals for a John Deere JD 440, 440A skidder. What I have is the operator's manual OM-T32953 and the parts list PL-T31072. If anyone has one of these machines and needs these manuals, contact me.
Hi Do you know what serial numbers they cover?
Thanks Thomas

The only additional info on the operators manual is that it is issue J9, it does not provide a serial number range. If you have a series-A skidder, it will probably apply. These books are pretty old but in good condition. The parts list has a print date of July, 1968. Hope that helps. I'm not trying to get much out of these books, just trying to repurpose them.

I needed this about 1987 to put together a series A from the sixties/seventies that showed up at work in nine or ten wooden crates. Whole machine was torn down to paint and then sold. I was given the task of assembly without any input. Those *f-wording hoses suck under the chassis! A job you will never forget. Good practice to learn hydro work. Yea, it had leaking valves, pump and rams all over it.

Well, now you can get these books and put them in your bathroom for recreational reading with the pleasure of not actually having to face the machine.

If you can build those machines from a pile of parts, everything else is easy in the nut and bolt world. They should be required reading.

Guys, I’m looking for some small parts for SOLO 603. I need fuel cap and oil cap gaskets, or if someone knows what size O-ring that’ll fit.

I’m also looking for the carb adjuster surround grommet/guide.

If anyone knows where I can find these parts, it’s greatly appreciated.

I don’t have much to trade, other than green pieces of paper.

Finding parts for these is getting to be a real challenge. Solo USA sold their back stock to distributors in Germany and Austria.

There's one dealer on German Ebay who has a lot of parts:

https://www.ebay.de/sch/elektrotech...t3oAAOSwu6taVMeS&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562

It might worth using Google translate to send them a message. I've had good luck buying parts from there. I'll measure the fuel and caps I have a 690 here today.

Thanks. Wow! That guy does have a lot of Solo stuff.

I did find the gaskets on eBay, after a little digging.
The grommet I found on a German website. My German is pretty rusty, but I gathered that they don’t ship to the US. I tried to order, and have it shipped to my address in Norway. Then have it shipped here. Paid with my US PayPal. We’ll see how it goes, I guess. Lol

Looking for an early Stihl 066/064 white fuel tank - I have a see thru tank to fit the same that has a seam repair I would like to trade. I am looking to die it black so need not be perfect, just no cracks, breaks, or massive scratches. I could also use an HD air filter cover & the carb cover plate with the snorkel slot for the same & clutch cover - I have a wj-48 carb & cash I could swap also for those. Thanks

I've got one but the top left av boss is broke off but does have some good parts left on it if you find a good one that needs a few things to make it complete.

ok, I due have an extra orange carb housing piece that screws to the top of the tank - so it doesn't need to be a complete tank

Is that mag/alum or plastic? My big bearing 066 has the metal HD box, intelicarb snorkel, narrow clear tank and flat recoil housing. Looks early up top but the bottom is late model with narrow trimmings and short oil tank.
I wonder if your carb box is the same part number as my late model saw?
