Has anyone ever seen a 5/16 socket set?
A old bloke was showing me some tools and stuff under his house and I saw a odd looking good socket set. It was a snap on 5/16 drive set, very old and very rare I'd think.
I have asked plenty of old mechanics and no one has ever seen such a thing!

I've heard of a 9/32 socket set.

Hey Guido, do you have any Nepros (made in Japan) branded ratchets/sockets?

I have been looking into Nepros and they appear top notch. Those who own them believe there a class above snap on and other high end hand tools. They are not cheap though, the price actually makes snapon sound cheap. I got some Kincrome, Gearwrench, Stanley, Belzer, a little 1/4" deep set of Stahlwille & Teng tools. I only buy the good stuff when I get it cheap on EBay. Just got a Wera ratchet & set of their 'Joker' ratchet spanners which are nice tools. Hate to pay full retail 4 em though!

IMG_20180808_1714112~2-01.jpeg IMG_20180808_1715119~2-01.jpeg I got me a 3/8 Proto round head ratchet that I really like. It's made in Gemonio Italy by Facom tools. The ratchet has 72 teeth and the pawl has 17 teeth engaged at all times. The head is small and is only a hair larger than a 13/16 socket.

Both Proto, MAC, and Facom are owned by Stanley B&D. The ratchet was $36 and change shipped. You can buy one from MAC (with a rubber grip) for $82.

Here is the plant where it's made.

Well as I said on another thread I have around 26-27 Kennedy and other model tool boxes .Three at my house couple dozen at my shop .I have no idea how many ratchets I have nor sockets, extensions and what not .I'll just say many .
I do have one item not many have ,a 58 to one gear torque amplifier . I'm not certain what the upper limit it is but well over 1000-2000 ft pounds .Sure beats a 10 foot piece of pipe for a cheater .

Those Proto round heads are tough. Just last week I had 2 sets of NOS Proto 1/2" sockets arrive from the old Challenger days. I got both 6pts & 12pts, one set is pre 'flank drive' design. Pretty cool tools.
