Got my first (and 2nd) hooskie the other day. In the Craigslist Seller’s picture, I thought it was a 261 and 266. Turned out to be a 261 and 288xp lite.

$20/each

I already have the 288 split & cleaned, now sourcing parts. :)

Utah, unfortunately.....
Please remind me to never play poker against @JonCraig. Seriously, Ida prolly peed my pants and giggled like a schoolgirl whilst paying the seller...
LOL!
Let’s just say that I didn’t haggle him. :)
This reminds me of when the Husqvarna dealer where I got all of the guide bars sold me the USFS trade ins for $30 each....three 262XP's and three 266XP's.

One of my tree guys called me the other day and told me he found another 460 "parts saw" he forgot to give me. He gives me parts saws in exchange for fixing his saws. Usually, the cases are about all that is good on most of them, although I did get a good 046 D jug on one a few months ago.

Turns out this one was not a 046/460, but a 12 mm 044. The case had a hair line crack in the rear AV mount that I repaired with JB Weld, and I have plans for the use of the case and crank (which looks brand new) on another project.

To my surprise, the P+C were in great shape. I installed them on one of my Asian 440 kits. #s w/o base gasket were Sq .018, 103, 118.5, 68. I lowered the intake to 79 ran the saw in some big Oak today, and the saw is strong! Not bad for a basically free deal!

Fires right up, I need $9.76 worth of parts to have it 100%. Echo 590. Paid $100. Oh yeah, compression is 140 cold.

Top end of the saw looks like it ingested a bit of carbon. Cylinder is ok...piston is shot. Lots of extra goodies. Clutch cover is brand new...too bad it was put down on something hard, and scratched around. Lol

Well, after Frank's post, mine seems not so sucky, but...

I bid on a MS260 on eBay and won it for $75. Listed as not running. Gassed it and it fired on the 1st pull.

Its got good compression, P&C looks clean and not scored. I guess it was a trade-in saw. Probably sat for a while. I'm gonna go thru the carb and see where it is after that.

Pressure washing time!

P.S. I hate flippy caps...

Re: Flippy Caps … The AM ones don't leak, that makes them OK in my book!

Don't know why they designed them this way, but once you know they only drop down once every 360*, they aren't so hard to get used to. If I had designed them, they would drop every 1/3 turn, and folks would like em better!!!
