I am curious as to how rugged the bottom end of the 462 is. The 572 uses the same size main bearings as a 395 so I don't foresee it having crankshaft/bearing issues. If the same can be said for the 462 it should be a home run.

Curious to your thoughts on these few things Randy... What one balances better with the 28” bar? What one oils the 28” bar better? Which one has more torque? Last but not least which one is smoother?

This is a chainsaw forum... everyone runs a 20” on a 70+ cc saw. 28” is for a 90cc.

Just because the 572 has 6203 sized bearings ain't really the same have it having a 395 bottom end.....is it?

Same crankshaft? Nope.

572 has an inboard clutch too.....

The 572 balanced better with the 28. Both seemed to oil it well. I used both saws ripping the test wood into a cant. The 572 clears noodles better.

Thanks for your input Randy. To me a saw that balances a bar rather than being nose heavy... is going to be less tiring after a few hours of work. That’s just my preference though. The 462 probably balances a lightweight 24. My 562 does and it’s about a 1/2lb lighter, so the 462 should be able to.

I think the 462 would be perfect with a 25" ES Lite.
