My second love, and first big purchase after my marriage to the first love of my life, was a STIHL MS 310. She was my pride and joy! She made me feel like a MAN!! She had me wrapped from day one, the smell of two stroke oil started an addiction that I still struggle with today. I’ll admit it I love chainsaws... every brand, size, color, chain pitch, grind angle etc.
Old Faithful has a minor straight gassing early in her years that scared me to death. We brought her back to life and that was the last time a saw ever got loaned out again.
Well today she slung the crank rod and she’s gone home forever. I’ll never forget the old gal, boy we had some adventures . I’ll never forget my one true “Lady”.
Hope you don’t mind me putting a Dolmar 6400 in your spot on the tree.

That’s what we tried to do!!! Bought a POS farmatech BIG BORE 390 short block and a cross performance pop up piston cabre rings. . New OEM thump tube, gas line, manifold, muffler, and POS knock off carb, I purchased because the two OEM carbs wouldn’t act right.
Ended up with a nice tight 050” squish and 105psi compression. No leaks held pressure and vacuum.
I learned my lesson.
Won’t happen again I’ll never purchase another product from HUTZL/FARMTECH.
Don’t care how many videos are posted. Nor who post them.

I drove 2.5 hours one way today to have a 30 year veteran builder look at it. He diagnosed it and we were just trying to get it to idle hoping that after a few tanks the compression might come up enough to make the saw function somewhat until we could regroup and go with another plan. That’s when she let go.

When a saw is built up out of a menagerie of parts from different suppliers, it's inevitable that there's going to be instances of an incompatibility that lead to a failure. Sounds like this was a catastrophic one. Sorry the saw died. It can still be revived though. Try a different combination.

So far we've killed 2 roosters a drained their blood on it. Shook a crow foot and chanted "stairway to heaven" backwards. Burned 5 candles, sprinkled powered mushrooms around it, and rubbed the entire saw with Watkins White Horse Liniment. Still has no signs of life.
