As the title suggests, just checked the factory hutzl ft ignition timing and advance curve built in to the hutzl coil.
Short of it is, 26-27 deg btdc, no advance curve built in, rpm induced retard of approx 2 deg
About to pull jug and epoxy intake up from 90 to 80,maybe work on raising transfers 10 deg to 120

Any input on ignition timing numbers these lil chinas like?
Squish is. 020", I guess a plug chop will tell me where it's at next time oug

That's pretty good stock timing.
28-30° BTDC is about right.
I'll try to find where I read that later today.

This was posted a while back, I can’t remember who posted it, but credit goes to them for posting it
It seems a bit odd there’s no built in adv, only a running retard, I wonder if that’s why the other guy is having probs starting his China-660. It has been said fixed timing coils can be hard to start.6780B155-F1BF-480E-BAFA-B4B5A32D6483.jpeg

Yuck...
Plug chop is pointless in a fresh twosmoke.
The consensus is 80-4 80 builds torque
120 transfers. If you can get there with out ruining the roof and exit angles.
100-96 96 has more top end go.
Good Luck
Dump that coil on a resale stocker. It will work good.

What are you using to read? The light I have would not show any further advance past about 10k.

Standard hella timing light no advance/retard, appears to be a fixed ign,
plug chops are the only way of getting a snapshot of cylinder temps without setting up expensive in cyl monitoring,
she's had 6 or 7 tanks through so far, for a centrally located plug and such a small chamber I can't imagine its too far away from where it needs to be

Wow, that is a lot. Wonder what the timing ends up being with that much advance?

My China saw was at 22° stock. I advanced a whole keyway, it was popping so hard it wouldn't piss rev over 10k.

Does anyone have a flywheel handy that could measure the ID?

IMG_20180708_100220.jpg IMG_20180708_100311.jpg Funny I got another keyway and took 20" of it and before I changed it out I found TDC and then hit it with the timing light and this is what I found. The top line is where it's running at idle and full throttle now to me that's advanced right from the get go.
