I finally got around to putting together my 066 kit from Huztl. I bought this about 3 months after they started selling full kits so I guess I got an early one. I decided to go with OEM gaskets, seals, oil and gas caps, intake and impulse line and sprung for the AM big bore kit. I used the special crank tools from Mattyo (awesome, btw) and building the case was easier than I expected. One thing I noticed was that the powder coat was not consistent; way thick in some spots, non-existent in others. Not really a concern, until I got to the bar tensioner. After 2 hours of fiddle farting around and cleaning out literally gobs of powdercoat I was able to fit the tensioner components.
Most everything was organized in bags according to the specific assembly section which was a plus. Lots of duplicate rubber parts; a lot of them were already installed so I wound up with seconds.
I flooded the saw initially (brain fart), but once I cleared it I only had to make minor adjustments to get her to run.
She’ll wear a Sugi 25” bar but not till I’m ready for test cuts (need to source a new test log).

Yes let us know how the big bore jug turns out. I had 1 of 4 that was literally perfect. No free port by .020 squish was flat and consistant at .028 timing was decent at 99 122 82 and ports were shaped and chamfered pretty decent for a 30 doller kit. Of the others i got from the same vendor either had terrible plating, huge free port, squish the wrong angle, and one even came with a 440 piston and a 56mm jug

How does that big bore run? Did you get more vibes with the heavier cylinder?

Runs very very well. Not as high reving as a oem 54mm by about 800-1000 rpms. But she is a grunter. Pulls its 36 inch full comp stumping for a tree service. The tree guys crushed the oem broke about all the fins off. So it got put back together with all aftermarked parts atleast 3 years ago. Definitive dave sent me a koyo wrist pin bearing to try that is also still in service. I heard he had trouble with them on some real hot saws. Long story short i knew i was buying cheap parts and was on a time line so i ordered 4 p&c kits knowing some would be junk. Low and behold one was just exceptional. I was able to return the other 3 and got my money back. The build is just a freak runs at 12500 all day on their 50:1 redmax oil with 87 corn gas. Everytime they drop off another saw to be fixed i ask them about its health of that saw. They say other then being tough to pull over they would die before i got it from them they love it. It has lasted way longer then i thought it would.
