I finally got around to putting together my 066 kit from Huztl. I bought this about 3 months after they started selling full kits so I guess I got an early one. I decided to go with OEM gaskets, seals, oil and gas caps, intake and impulse line and sprung for the AM big bore kit. I used the special crank tools from Mattyo (awesome, btw) and building the case was easier than I expected. One thing I noticed was that the powder coat was not consistent; way thick in some spots, non-existent in others. Not really a concern, until I got to the bar tensioner. After 2 hours of fiddle farting around and cleaning out literally gobs of powdercoat I was able to fit the tensioner components.
Most everything was organized in bags according to the specific assembly section which was a plus. Lots of duplicate rubber parts; a lot of them were already installed so I wound up with seconds.
I flooded the saw initially (brain fart), but once I cleared it I only had to make minor adjustments to get her to run.
She’ll wear a Sugi 25” bar but not till I’m ready for test cuts (need to source a new test log).
Stoked!
