Hey gents... question here about the 066 and 660 differences.
Have an 066 Red light that runs, clean cylinder but the case is broke by the front AV mount. Will a newer 660 case work to repair by swapping over??
The 660 has a bad piston, but it’s not bad and I thing the cylinder is probably good. It’s missing some carb housing parts but repairable.
My question will the 066 Red light top work on the 660. Possible build one saw out of one?? Seem I’ve read there are different chassis’s and such and not sure of interchangeability.

Red light tank that’s broken

Not my saws and the owner would like them both fixed......cheap!!
Just weighing options....

Thanks!!!!

Case volume on the newer 066/660 cause the performance to lack compared to the 066 redlights, the fuel tanks are different as well, for best performance I would have the case welded and repaired, buy a Cross topend for the 660 easiest, cheapest and best fix imo.

Why do you say the bigger case hurts performance?

I have had a few of the bigger case saws, was never impressed by them, I attributed it to the larger case volume, MM and timing advance helped but they were still dogs for a 92cc saw. The older small case saws, seem more responsive to me.

I've heard that from a lot of people but timed cuts showed the opposite. Treemonkey has some killer running small case saws.
