Alright, so here is my Chinese 660 build thread that I promised. I am going to call her Mai-Mai, because I think I "may" need some Valium after dealing with some of the problems I encountered!!

Heated flywheel side half and crank dropped straight in. Didn't even need to remove the pre-installed seal, but I did have spares ready if it got damaged.

So with the case together I thought now would be a great time to install the chain adjuster. What a f&*%ing piece of s#@t! The kit version feels like it is full of river sand. It is notchy as hell, and the range of travel is roughly half that of the OEM versions. I "played" with it for a while and added some spray grease, working it back and forward til it freed up some. It is better, but not great!

Flywheel on. I made sure I torqued the nut down good and proper as I was concerned about shearing the key.20180103_131242.jpg
Time for the oil pump now. No problems here.

"Grease me up woman"!!! I did just take a bee's dick of length off the end of the worm gear because it was rubbing slightly on the case.

So it came time for the cylinder. Some of you may have seen my earlier post regarding the Cross MMWS top end. Randy hooked me up and posted a kit over to Australia for me. It got here in super quick time. I just want to again thank Randy for going to the trouble. You're a top fella mate and if you take a vacation down under some time then get in touch so I can buy you some beer and take ya fishing!!

Cool, I was sweating for a bit, I used the hard stuff by mistake before. I was in pain getting it out with a blowtorch, lucky it was an exshust bolt on a trimmer.

Cheers

The Cross cylinder looked pretty decent, but it did have a few slag balls in the inlet and the bevelling on the exhaust port floor was non existant. BUT, the biggest concern for me was the exhaust roof. It looked flatter than a piss on a plate!! I just couldn't leave it like that and feel any sort of confidence in the longevity of this build.20180103_135800.jpg 20180103_142846.jpg 20180103_141526.jpg
