Well another season is here, I have a poplar sale to start probably 120-150 cord then hopefully move on to some oak! Here's the old cable skidder, new engine, clutch, injection pump, lift pump, starter, alternator and some other misc. She's raring to go!

Well first day back at it... Got about 3/4 load cut and skidded out. Not to bad for not logging for over a year and a half

Plus I have a 12 x 50 pile not to horrible for a 1 man show

Cutting that many in a day, do you try to directional fall or just let em go and skid em out if they hang?

We run some of them too.

So do you just call a local mill and ask what they need? How does that work?

There a trucking outfit here that has been in business forever and has accounts everywhere. I just call him tell him what I'm cutting he tells me what length to cut it. Then he comes and picks it up, he gets paid for the wood then cuts me a check minus hauling. I know it doesn't work like that everywhere but we're lucky enough here to have a guy like that

Nice. I'd love to find a one man show local to me to go work for on weekends. Would have lots of fun.

West rock which is formerly rock tenn formerly a few other names located in St. Paul is all recycled paper now days. I spent 7 years working maintenance there and it’s sucked. The money was great but that was it.

There paper is clean and smooth. Now this Carastar srap we run is pathetic
