What to look out for on the 440 kit?

Who's built it and what missing parts/issues should I look for? I know I'm missing the throttle linkage.
I've never worked on this particular saw, so any help is greatly appreciated.

@Mattyo I think might have a video or two. I know he had some issues with the clutch side crank bearing.

I was missing the throttle link too.

Gotta check the thickness of the pto bearing inner race. Oem is 9mm. If yours is 10mm it'll be a pain to get the drum e clip on later.

The throttle and switch assembly needs to be replaced with OEM for sure. Along with the gas caps and chain tensioner. Some might argue that you need to use caber rings and oem clips.

Thanks for the info on that. I'd never seen that mentioned anywhere. Mine is 9mm, but it would be a big issue after you had the cases together.
I'm also missing the carb nuts. They were missing on my 660 kit too.

My carb nuts were missing too in my 660 kit. Bought a bag of 50 5mm SS serrated flange nuts and 50 SS reg. nuts 5mm on Ebay.

I've discovered the brake band is the wrong one. It's way too big. Must be for a 660. The rest of the brake parts seem correct.

I had a problem with the clutch drum, the bearing was super tight in it and it was out of round. I got a Oregon drum to replace it for $20. Chain tensioner worked ok after working it back and forth with some oil/grease. Throttle and switch assembly worked ok, needed to file some plastic on the trigger as it would bind and not allow proper operation. my throttle linkage was missing too. I needed to buy an oem tank vent. The tank vent it came with leaked gas. The replacement farmertec tank vent leaked as well. Oem fit and sealed fine, no leaks.

I'm going to turn this 440 kit into a 460 hybrid. I have a decent oem 460 cylinder and a Meteor piston on the way. It should be interesting.

Both sides of the cylinder base needed grinding to clear the cases and I've slotted the cylinder bolt holes to fit. Just from mocking it up the flywheel clears the cylinder easily with no gasket. I can't wait to see what the squish is once I get the piston.

Update. The squish with the Meteor was at .015 with no gasket. I made a paper gasket to bring it up to .021. Probably safer with the Chinesium rod material.

I used one of those muffler spacers from some guy named Dave. It's perfect for even a Chinese hybrid. A big thanks to everyone that had a hand in that.

This kit went together about as well as the 660. It pressure and vac checked fine with the supplied gaskets and seals.
I'm waiting on a oem fuel and impulse line. I'm probably going with a oem intake boot too. The one that comes with it is super soft and the clamp is a pure biatch.
I tried to use the oem 460 piston pin in the Meteor piston. That won't work as the oem is about a 1/16" longer.

Clamp from a ms390. Boot and fuel line and impulse was ok, still holding up so far

Not yet. It had too much compression to crank without a decomp. I actually cut my finger on that sharp Echo like plastic trying to crank it.
I also had to grind some more off the inside of the cylinder cover to make it fit right.
