These pics come to us by way of @StephK87 from Germany. He was kind enough to void his warranty and send us these pics. Not only that, he will be porting this saw ASAP and gutting the stratos, Snellerized Style. I can't wait to see how this thing runs! It looks like a cross between a MS261CII and a MS661C.

Stephen's initial comments are that it's as light as a MS362, as strong as a MS461 but with better acceleration, and much better handling than a MS441.

I've never taken apart a new saw but it seems like a lot of cylinder scuffing already. Thoughts from people who have?

Completely normal. I've seen much worse.

The integral diverter scares me. The one in my 461 was cracked and needed replaced.

I've yet to see that. Of course I've just seen mostly new saws......

That's good to hear, and if I'm the first person you've heard it from then even better.

The most common issue I see and hear about is the jug cracking under the exhaust port on the 461. I noticed they added reinforcements to the 661 from the base up on each side.

I just hope it wakes up the same as other saws, or it's a yawn!

Never saw a piston as funky as that.

The 461 I repaired (for a local tree guy) had a chunk out of the bottom of the piston that I think was heat related, but the cylinder was OK, was able to clean it up and re use it. I vented the muffler real well, removed the carb limiters, and the saw is still running (in professional use).
