I'm at a Crossroads trying to figure out if I want to spend the extra money and look for parts to convert my 2253 2A 2253 wh however I can't find a handle it seems as though they aren't made anymore does anyone know if I could fit a 550G XP handle on my 2253 I'm thinking all the rest of the parts would match up but I'm also thinking it would be cheaper for me just to buy a 550 XP G however I would have to get it ported then so I'm wondering whats more cost-effective.

Thanks

I'm about to do the same thing here shortly.
My Dads 550xpg got squashed not to long ago. So I'm going to rob all the heated parts off of it.
From what I understand is everything bolts on from the two. But the handle and break are different angles so I'm going to get a Husky handle and put it on my J-red with the Husky Break Flag so they match.

Good to know my biggest issue is is being I don't have parts to Rob off a doner saw and I have to buy it all it may not be as cost-effective.

Ya if you have buy all the parts. It would be probably better to just sell the saw and get a new one.

Buy a new 550xpg. Swap piston and cylinder. Sell 2253 with new p/c as a used saw. Might be out $100 bucks but you'll have a ported heated handle saw
I did think of that , I know there is case grinding to do is what Terry told me. I'm selling the 2253 now , I might just send the 550 xpg to Alan , he did my 562xpg.

It's not a huge amount of clearancing. You wpuld see it when you swapped them.
