I just tried a set of scag high lift. The Oregon brand 91-623. Those things move some air but take a lot of power to spin. Seems to put some extra strain on things. But man do the clippings FLY!!!

I took a few photos of my G6 blades. You can clearly see the Fusion on the blade ends.
I wire brush the grass off the blades then sharpen by hand. [emoji106]

All my mowers other than the finish cut and bush hog now wear Stens Hi-Lift blades. They are the best I have ever tried and can be purchased very cheaply on Fleabay. My 27 year old Murray 12hp/38 now cuts great, just as good as my stepdad's $2000.00 Troy Bilt.

Explain the term "fusion" and how it relates to the blade. There is no sarcasm in my question -- I just want to know. I just removed a set of Gators from a walk behind zero turn we have because one of them caught a root and was slightly bent. I replaced them with high lift blades and the high lifts work marvelous for wet grass.

I think it is just some different metal that is harder and holds an edge better. The Fusion part is the little wavy portion at the tip ends of the blades on the underside. The website may be able to explain a little better than I can.

I think my Gator G6 blades are for mulching mowers. I have Hurricane Mulching kit I added to my SCAG that works great. Leaves no debris at all behind. Works well.

"Fusion" is basically hard weld on the lower edge of the blade for about 1/2" back. This makes just the edge of the blade harder so it stays sharp for longer but they are more prone to chipping if you are hitting rocks.

I think those are the factory blades for my hustler super z 60". Currently I'm running exmark style notched blades, they seem about the same.

We have similar mowers, this one is an '09 superz 60" 31 kawi. It did come with the Fusions and thats all I've ran up until this season. I basically went with these for the price and convenience of click and deliver.

Pretty similar. I have an '08 Super Z 60", 28 Kohler EFI. I just got it this year and I've been wanting to try different blades. I need to take the deck off and bend back the front baffle curtain and fix a few other things on it. I'm slowly fixing things the previous owner had messed up.

Non gator high lift fusions, .204" thick. I see no benefits to a gator mulcher, they wear faster/fracture. A quality blade in a clean deck with ample horsepower will mulch just as well.

How many hours on that one?
