I may still find a way to make it out that way and take you up on your offer... I'm not scared by recoil, but I know what my limits are as well as my preferred delivery "style", if you will. I don't mind a big slow, almost black-powder like shove. A huge sharp jab sucks though. I'd rather shoot hot 310gr pills out of a .44 Mag than hot 220-240gr versions... That's why I like the .45 Colt in a SBH, SRH or similar build gun as it can be loaded down to gallery gun/pepper popper loads or up to 300+gr pills pushing some kinetic energy with penetration to spare. The .41 is just a neat cartridge though and I love it in Dad's Model 57. I just really like the heft and balance of the SRH and with a trigger job it's everything the Smith is and more.

I picked this up yesterday, on the cheap, from a guy who bought it new, said he never shot it and decided it was too heavy. I was afraid there was something wrong with it but I checked the cylinder throats and bore diameter and everything looks perfect. The Trigger is good and the grips fit better than most.
It's chambered in .44spec, which is quickly becoming my favorite cartridge.

I agree on the .41M.
I've got a 4" M57 Mountain gun that's a pleasure to carry and easy shooting.
I've also got a couple Ruger Blackhawks in .41M. A 4 5/8" standard and a 6 1/2" Flat top. Both of them are very manageable, even with stout loads.

Although I've got one and love shooting it, the SRH is surpassed in butt ugly, only by the Taurus Judge.

I posted this in the other thread, may as well do it here too seeing it's the hunting and shooting thread.

We had a small competition going last night for rabbits. The rules were pistol only and they had to be over 50 yard shots. Our group on our ATV finished the night of with 18 of them. Needless to say we won:D

IMG_0552.JPG

We got dope out to a mile with 308's before we switched to 50 and 338. The SASR gives me wood. We are shooting at the Ridge line right below the windmills.

Here is a pic of the Ridge we were shooting at looking to our shooting position. We got the guys out to 2700 and hoping to get them well beyond 3000 if they've got enough adjustment in their scopes

There is nothing like ELR shooting. I'm very blessed to be able to have the opertunity to help out with the class.

It doesn't get much better than being with a bunch of like minded guys on a 40,000 acre ranch doing what we love.

A couple of my most used fox rifles, I use a 100w spotlight to locate the fox then switch over to the torch to shoot.
Government is giving $10 per fox scalp at the moment, allows me to buy more guns and saws.

Evening guys
I built me a target to shoot at with 2 22.5 semi tires and hung a disc blade in center.
Shot it with ar15 55gr soft pts, poked holes clean thru.
Didn't think sp would do that.
Wow [emoji15]

True. Dozer cutting edges are pretty close to AR 500. I got all of my stuff from JCsteel.com. Great guy to deal with. I got 68 lbs of targets in one flat rate box. Mail people hated us but they say 70 lbs and if it fits it ships.[emoji23]

Guy wanting to trade on a saw. 2005-2013 ( I looked it up to know it was newer with 15rd and rail) ruger p 95 with 1 mag. Says been shot 200rds. Just sets.

Seem to be around $300 when new? What do you think a fair trade in value would be?
Also 100rds of ammo not that I will count that for much.

I remember reading about the trials the Army held towards accepting the M16 in a 1960's Gun Digest. One of the requirements (hardball though) was that it go through both sides of a GI helmet at 500 yards.

Peppy cartridge. There was a lot of apprehension back then over the .22 cal. bullet.

I had one of those as well. Had the ergonomics of a brick.
I sold it and got a Sig P226............no comparison.
