What do you think of the KM 90 Dave ? I have worked the 100 and the 130 but not the 90. There a bit more "vibey" than the 2 stroke stuff i feel , different frequency as well.

Absolutely hate them the weight and the way they feel.
I don't mine the older generation stihls but the 4 mix suck at least too
Me.
I know they have good power
But give me a shindaiwa/echo redmax or my 25 yr old alpina vip 25s any day over these stihls.
I have a echo 230 that i can run all day no problem good power light and very little vibes.
And that wonderful foam handle lol

Have to say the KM multi system wouldn't be my first choice regardless of 4mix . I like having a poll pruner and hedge trimmer combo that the head swaps across rather than splits in the middle and a line trimmer /brush cutter as a separate machine. Iv used a Stihl FS 90 4 mix with a harness and cow horns, much better than the D handle sort as you get isolation from the motor. My personal trimmer ...i like my 244 gx , still strong 20 + yrs down the line and still a pretty fair bit of kit.

While I'm on the subject of line trimmers .
A customer asked me for a simple mower to cut rough grass in between raised beds . He didnt need to collect so i got him this as it will go up to the wooden boards , so doing away with the need to use a line trimmer as well as mowing. These things are not bad at all for other scrub work to in and about the place.

I've worked on a couple of them great for flat and some sloped cutting.
Most people use them a few time's around here and sell them when
They get the job finished enough
To use a mower.
Today putting a wt 215 for
a 250 on a 170 it really peps them up.
Muff modded new lines as well runs great.
I have to add a tank vent and it's done.20170618_110643.jpg

That a direct sub over Dave ... Other than some more holes to get to the carb jet screws and vent?

Some I've done didn't need another vent but this one does.
After a few minutes it vapor locks
I switched to another new carb
It did the same.
That's it simon just an additional hole for the high needle and a vent if necessary on your saw.
I had to slightly flatten the hook for the carb linkage 170 open 250 oval hole and it pops in now.
I think i will just add vents to all those i do 170 180 211 in case there is issue's now we have hot weather now.

Stihl fs44 i truly hate these lol
Mud daubers present
Looks like little to no oil to me.
Any exhaust daubers are attracted to for some reason that's why i leave screens in.
Part's price makes it not worth fixing. 20170619_102123.jpg 20170619_110806.jpg

Thats a full diary ! If you like doing the OPE stuff on top of everything then i guess you dont find it to much of a bind. I wont be into any timber work till later in the year , am ahead this time with firewood in stacks drying . Aug/Sept maybe for pulling out a few trees that are on the ground before the banks get slick. Parts ordered for the ms 200 (genuine fuel combined breather line) and the carb has a new kit in it.

Stihl fs55r owner heard amazing tales of seafoam so he adds some.
Then it won't start so i look at it.
100 percent seafoam he used no 2 cycle.
Luckily it wouldn't start on seafoam so there is no damage.
Primer bulb change lines are great
It's in good shape.
Didn't even charge him he gave me a 20 horse riding mower last year lol

Ah..so thats what this "Sea Foam" stuff is all about... Not seen it myself in the UK . "Redex" is maybe the closest thing to that i can think of.
I bet it wont tell you to run your engine on the stuff neat ! proves the instructions were as likely as not looked at!!
Pet hate of mine that... .
For me that FS 55 and the other ones in the group are less of a headache with the choke in the housing rather than the choke in the carb...makes finding new carbs easy as there are cheep and sub over . The other Zama sorts tend to be OEM mostly here with the primmer body having built in check valves that can give agro, whereas the other sort with the mushroom top duck bill valve in the primmer bulb are easy sorted .
