If you're going to be doing more than 3-4 saws, I'd suggest that you get a knockoff foredom flex drive with foot petal, a cc specialties rt angle, and a straight handpiece.

Won't be too expensive, the rt angle is the pricey one, but you're going to be doing more saws than you think

Agreed.....if you do a few and see that it's something you're interested in continuing.

There are some 'Foredom' copies on Ebay with flexshaft, foot control and handpiece for $70-$120. Not sure what they'd be like but with Dremels being China made they might be worth a shot. Since buying a Mastercarver setup for porting, I have found the unit useful for a gazillion other things as well. Great tool to have hanging in the shop whether you port or not.

What do you guys use to smooth the transition from plating to bare metal.

I'd like to make some mandrels for cutting chambers. Where do you guys get the plastic ( I think it's called Delron) from to make your mandrels? Any one maybe have a link?

Do you use the same mandrel in your lathe to hold the cylinder as you use for cutting the chambers?

Agree with the 8" mandrel length.

China/hf flex shaft and a cc rt angle.
Recommend a 1/8 & 3mm collet as the budget burrs can vary/mislabeled
Same with the diamond grit burrs. And some small split mandrel. Love those things for finishing exhaust.
