Just as the title states, what is the bore size in MM of your favorite/most used saw?

50mm 371 for me.

Just wondering what bore the range is for popular saws.?

Well, my favorite saws vary with the task. For limbing real small stuff, I like the Stihl 018. For stuff a bit larger up to about 10" the 026 rules. 039 or 044 bigger than that and the MS660 for the big stuff. The Stihl 070 for the really really big stuff but I don't encounter too much of that... So average bore size is probably 50mm.ish.

Thanks fellas,

Trying to get a list together of bore sizes for the popular saws. Thinking 44-55 covers most of them but not 100% sure.

42mm is the 346 45cc version. 58mm isn't really needed. I have 46mm, 50/52, 54/55, and getting ready to make a 48mm in aluminum in a few days. The smaller ones so far I've just made them from ash dowels for cutting bases.

44 thru 60mm covers most popular saws.

What is up round 60mm?

Red,

It depends on whether you're a still guy of not. I am.

44/44.7/46/48/50/52/54 is what I made. Covers me for most models from 026-066

Most of the stihls are flat base's without the cylinder extensions correct?

Thank you guys for the help

Now the next question.

What it the distance form the squish band to the base surface?

I don't have many jugs here to check, so if someone could drop a tape in some jugs and check that measurement I would be very grateful.

Seems the 346 was round 2.75-3" or so.

They all vary some. I can get you some for 365, 460, 385, 066.

60mm is the 3120, 084, 088. I do a lot of those big saws.

On length, I use a 8" piece with a different size on each end.

That gives me room to work between the QCTP and the cylinder base.
