026 vs 421 physical size

I was talking to Drf255 last night about the good old 026 and wanted to share a few pictures to demonstrate the difference in size. I'm not looking to start a "what is better..." Battle.

They are light, strong and nimble. Nice to have no matter who makes it ie: 346xp same attributes. I am old, I know these things! lol

I've never run both side by side so I can't really comment too much. I did not use the 026 this past year. This year I'll compare the 421 vs 026
Pro vs 5100s. I'm curious to see what I like the best

One thing about Dolmar. They don't shrink the plastics down as close to the chassis and engine as much as some other mfc. Don't know why maybe cooling. It's not fat,just a little fluffy. I've used a 420. A lot.

The 5100s is very impressive to me, though not as nimble as an 026 or 346.

Its like the fact a 550xp is about the same wieght/size as a ms241....so many think 'why not take the extra cc's', but in the real world cutting sub 14" wood the ms241 will get much more work done per tank. Power is only part of what makes a good saw, there's much more to it.

Maybe on a 421, but not so much on the 7900. That top cover doesn't have a whole lotta room under it

In a round about way, Al ended up with the 421 and I now have a mofo 026. There were a few other trades,saws and cylinders in the mix

I've had all four of them sitting on the floor together, not far off in size or weight. I have my favorites depending on what I'm doing, and I don't mind running any of them.
