I have 2 for different reasons . My 044 because it was the first really good saw I bought ('99 ) .Before that we moved a lot and things would go missing or get broken on a move ,so I bought easily replaceable saws .
My 372 xp that TLandrum did because it's just a pure pleasure to run .

Don't know. Had a Stihl 440, meh. Once I get to 70cc plus I want a little torque.2171/372 don't light me up either. I have a 70 cc Alpina that is what i really like but is a twenty year old unicorn so impractical for daily work. Maybe A Shini 757 but again old and parts. Thinking maybe a Dolmar 7300 with the long stroke and smaller bore might be for me.

372xp. Their extremely reliable, parts if needed are everywhere, the ergonomics are great. Easy to mod with great gains. Oil very well, and smooth. I run 2 with 28 inch bars one with a 24. 2 are oe and one xt.

70cc you say. Here is 3 70.7cc close as I can get. ;) Now if 70cc to 79cc would be different choice.

372 for build and handling. 044 440 on build and handling. Poulan for in the cut. All stock.

Ive not run many 70cc stihls so no input there. Love my 272xp. Fairly light, couldnt get any easier to work on, sweet HD filter setup sneaks under the top cover. Still good parts availability. I don mind the vibes, i do t cut enough for it to be a problem.
