I'm selling my backup that porkchop ported.

It's brand new in the box.

I'm gonna take the leap in to a battery saw so I'm gonna sell this.

It comes with a 14" light bar and PS chain.

I guess if you really need a picture of a new saw in a box I'll get you one...

1000 bucks.

Ive been using the 540i a lot recently. I was really reluctant going to battery saw but they are pretty awesome. Haven't used a 542 yet so I can't give you any comparison.

We have a t540i at our tree service. It’s light and stuff. But I don’t love it on big removals in harder wood. It stalls out if you don’t modulate pressure, electrical nannies. The clutch cover definitely gets plugged up, not sure if that slows it down but I’m sure it doesn’t help. I’d suggest you give the 542i the nod, wider/deeper cover stock, the clutch on it maybe gives the system some slack to keep from stalling the motor out. We’re selling our t540 for a ported 2511t to compliment the 201s we have. The Milwaukee top handle seems to have the juice, so does stihl’s battery top handle but man the safety switch setup on it ain’t for me (fondled it at a shop, not an in tree experience, maybe it sucks less than I thought it did)

Does the cardboard box make it a better anchor for the boat Dallas doesn’t have?

So the 201 better then ported 200t? I’m either sending a 200t in or I’m buying this one but I know stock for stock my 201 don’t hold a light to the stock 200t maybe Mr wolf rebuilt it just that good :)

I really can't decide.
I wouldn't waste your time on the 540i. I love mine, but the improvements on the 542i are enough to warrant buying it over the 540i. Doubt the power will increase much, if any, but the clutch and cover alone are significant upgrades for the clogging issues of the 540i.

I like my ported 2511t way more than the 540i. I guess it depends on what you’re looking to do with the saw. If you’re looking to replace a 201t for removals, I don’t think you’ll be happy with a battery saw. If you’re looking to replace a stock ms151 or 2511t you might like a 542i. But you’d probably like a ported 151 or 2511 even more. Have you got a dealer that will let you test a 542i before you buy?

When the 1st 201T came out it was indeed a gutless turd compared to the 200T and gave them a bad rep. STIHL has put out a few different versions now and the 200T is a thing of the past, yet some still think they’re gold.
