OK, let's start this one here.
Here's how it works. I'll start it by sending out 3 copies to members here, but in repayment, they MUST
send out 3 copies.
To get a copy, make a post here, saying that you want one, then send me your mailing address in a p.m..
It is that simple.
To load the program, just follow the instructions after installing the disc.

For some backround:
The Mediacat was Stihl's parts lookup software for years, but they expired every year, so the dealers were sent the updated version every year. Back in 2007, Lakeside sent me a copy that had the expiration feature removed, so I
started it in the chain letter thread. Computer savvy members have contributed updated versions up until 2012, and
then Stihl came out with a hackproof version, so this copy that I am starting this thread with is the 2012 version.
It comes with many Stihl catalogs, all of the parts lists, and the mechanic's manuals for the more recent models. Also has a great "item search" feature, which you can enter a part number, and it will tell you where {what models} is used, etc.

The "downside" is that it won't let you easily move files to e-mail, etc. You have to use a program like "snagit".
Or print the pages and scan them, or the like .

This is a very nice program to have, with tons of info! I got a copy and sent out 3 a couple years ago of the 2011 version.

If the 2012 version has more/updated info I'd be more than happy to get one and send some out. For the cost of sending a CD in the mail, its a great deal!

With the use of (for example) pdf creator (availible as freeware on the net) parts lists can be easily printed directly into pdf files. It is a virtual printer that you can find after the installation in the printer menu. All other existing pdf files can be easily safed directly with the save button. So it`s easy to attach a printed file to an e-mail.

I was back in VA over Memorial Day and ran with the group that does the Moormans/AT/Rip Rap/Wildcat Ridge/Turks Gap run. I didn't make it to your trail section as I ran with a fellow who had a stroke 3 months ago. His doctor is limiting his running, so we went from Sugar Hollow to Blackrock and back.

I started this a long time ago, the one that sends out the copies pays for the shipping, so it could not be said that I
was in any way "selling" the disc, for legal reasons.
I would hate to add up how much money that I have thrown into it over the years.
