Knots for braided nylon rope

What is the best type of knot to put into a braided nylon 3/4 inch rope that can be easily undone after using it for pulling?
I always have a heck of a time trying to get my knots undone. They are super tight and I have to dig them out to get them undone.

For a loop knot a bowline can take a heavy load and untie easily. To tie two lengths of rope together and have them untie after heavy load, the zeppelin bend is king. If I'm going to join two lengths of rope permanently, I'll use a double fisherman knot.

What are you tying the rope to? This will help in deciding which knot to use

I use the rope when I cut trees next to houses as a little insurance. I cut from the ground. I either hook the rope to my truck or have a helper pull the rope.
When hooked up to my truck, and my truck pulls the rope, the braided nylon really tightens up.

Thanks for the replies. I do use the bowline knot already for my loops. I will check out the clove hitch and fisherman's knot.

Great thread. I only know roughneck wonder knots. Wonder how the hell your gonna get it apart. I really wish I knew a few knots like mentioned above they would be very handy.

I use a bowline knot all the time. Never had one lock up and not come apart.

The only way a bowline will lock up or come untied is if you just didn't tie it right.

Figure eight follow through isnt bad. If you want to get tricky you could try a Stein Knott, also known as a stone knot.

we use the figure 8 on safety lines and bowline and clove on most our other knots

Thanks for the replies. I am still trying to get one of the knots out of the rope. They are in there pretty tight.

Old thread but I'm a lazy man.
I put a piece of wood on the middle of the knot.

Same as when you loop two nylon straps together like you should never do.

Break the wood and the knot is loose.

Zeppelin knot is tops for heavy use. As has been mentioned.

A clove hitch isn't for pulling a tree over. Its not good to use if there won't be constant pressure or if what its attached to will rotate. If you want to pull a tree over and set the rope from the ground then use a running bowline.

A zeppelin bend will do the same as a bowline but is harder to tie

Zeppelin bend is a great knot. The Carrick is perhaps even better, though takes just a bit of practice.
