I use a Snap-on muscle mig wire feed ,it is several years old now ,maybe 15 and still going strong ,i can change the gas to straight argon and spool weld aluminum also with the spool gun attachment ,it has a tig torch ,but i have not mastered that part yet ,a reg tig machine would do a better job i believe ,something about the a/c turning to d/c then back to a/c i was told ,it lays pretty good welds ,here is a small sample

lincoln vs miller? sounds like ford vs chevy or stihl vs husky.

At work I use a big miller squarewave for tig, a miller mig welder with a cool spool gun for aluminum. We also have two small miller 110v tig units.
At home I have a hazard fraught flux core mig (yuck), a lincoln ac buzz box for stick which will weld 7018 nice, and a big vintage sun mig welder.

as far as stick goes...I think a generator machine burns rod a lot nicer than a transformer machine...
