Anybody ever hear of Timber Ridge chain? Decent or TriLink or lower quality? Thanks.

Timber Ridge is a Chinese chain that I have been selling for over 5 years now with very few complaints. They also make bars too. My distributor is A&I formerly Sunbelt. Got to carefully spinning new loops as you cut get cut easily. I am however currently switching over to Oregon simply because my new distributor carries it and my cost is very close to the Timber Ridge. Plus Oregon has more designs available.

My main complaint with the Timber Ridge here is that the rivets are not spun well as the Oregon chain but no reported breakage.

Have Seen Tri-link sold at Walmart but I haven't paid any attention to it as to the quality of workmanship.

Tried TriLink on a couple different saws, for my experience, don’t waste your money.

Looked at the TriLink at Walmart the other day. Decent quality for a Chinese chain. Same logo on the tiestraps as the Timber Ridge chain. Also seen another brand at Home Depot yesterday at with the same logo but it looked treble quality wise. Timber Ridge supposedly coming with a platinum version (higher quality version) but leery of them now as the roll quality wasn't as good as the loops the last time I brought them.

Now a customer bring in some chains with this logo that were nearly impossible to hand sharpen. Wore out 5 file doing 8 chains plus I had blisters afterward which why I got an Oregon chain grinder now.

Personally since my Oregon distributor is having a sale in March I think just buy a few 100 rolls and call it done.

I think that would be a wise move man. Oregon is good chain.

mom using tripling on one of my small saws at the moment. It cut crooked since new. I did sharpen it and adjust the depth and it’s better but I still haven’t gotten it 100 percent. Hate having to mess with a new chain to get it to cut good

Well originally I was just buying the loops of Timber Ridge and they had well spun rivets plus seems to cut and hold the edge well. But after getting a breaker and spinner as I need to make some custom loops, I purchased the several rolls one of four sizes. Mainly to cut down the number of loops I was keeping in stock.

This is when as I got further down into the rolls I started finding problems. Rivets that could hang my finger nails on and one side sharpen correctly and the other not. Usually was the left cutters for some that were miss sharpen. Kinda of a disappointment of good cutting chain.

For the last year I have been buying Oregon since I finally got a distributor that gives decent price break on them. At least now I can at least sell the chain at fair price and make money myself at the same time. It is a win win for all that is involved.
