Thought I'd send a link to the only likely place you'll find a tank gasket for that saw these days. I know you can make them but, I sell everything for their carburetors, and and you can select the fuel tank gasket for the thrifty if you need that.

Just to be crystal clear, when you start to pull the rope, watch the spring. It should remain stationary until the pawl is in fully engaged position, then it should start to rotate with the rope rotor. If the spring starts to rotate with the rope rotor anytime before the pawl is fully engaged, then the spring isn't pinching onto the shaft tight enough.

I collect vintage poulan chainsaw especially 306/245 style saws! I love collecting all the vintage poulan memorabilia like books, brochures, NOS parts, signs etc....
