I was helping my step daughter repair her 2 stroke 1/5 scale RC car a few weeks ago and looking at the remote control of the carb got me thinking about milling.

Would milling be easier if you didn't have to hold the chainsaw's handle to run the throttle?

I am thinking 2 x handles on the mill frame to push on and one with a throttle trigger that runs the saw throttle by remote.

Thoughts?

I've seen guys using remote throttles on mills. I believe one complaints I read about was ware on the trigger of the saw.

I am thinking a small battery powered servo run from a remote control trigger similar to a remote control car.

The 2 stroke 1/5 scale cars run walbro carbs

Should work just fine. What I'm talking about is what ever is pushing/pulling on the trigger wearing a groove into the plastic.

Do it! While I think a cable and trigger is all you would need fitted to the push handle area, the remote system would be fun. Set the log up on a good angle go cook a bbq with a beer in hand and just squeeze the trigger!
