    2nd Gen Ram Pickups

There's something to he said for a simple gas truck. Yep, none of the diesels will ever be as affordable to work on as the gas engines. Yep, my 7.3 powerstroke, death by a million o-rings. I've literally torn apart the entire topside, replacing any 22 year old o-rings that could leak. Then the...

    2nd Gen Ram Pickups

Had a 1992 1 ton with the 5 speed manual and the 5.9 cummins. It was a simple truck, and got good fuel economy. The brakes weren't all that great even after a $1500 break job. Used it for firewood, caribou, moose, and for building materials for my business. A shi tty mechanic that ruined the...

    Let's Talk About Bill G

Oh gawd, Ben walker. Straight outta Detroit. Ran saws for a livin for half a minute. Now lives in a city in Montana, in the fking PRAIRIE. Yep, that guy tried "schooling" me on hunting, guns, and chainsaws, on a hunting forum. When Ben looks at himself in the mirror, he does not see a 70 year...

    Let's Talk About Bill G

My ginormous Mi'kmaq Indian uncles made me watch Pink Floyd "The Wall" VHS when I was like 5 years old. For some reason I picture Bill shaving off his eyebrows and destroying his shop. Then lining up 300 junk chainsaws in random indescribable orders, then selling them the next day. Bill, if...

    Let's Talk About Bill G

Coming up on memorial day fellas. This is small stuff and yall are some decent folks. Give each other a second chance, because you have the freedom to do so. Some don't get a second chance.

your pick for the strongest 81cc and under saw

Anymore guys running a solo 680? Is it an unlimited coil? What is the port configuration and stock timing? What is the stock compression? Good oiler or stingy oiler? Anyone put a 680 on ah scale, actual dry pho weight?

your pick for the strongest 81cc and under saw

No sht?! Them solo 680's were tooled up for cutting roofs as well! That's purdy cool. My 81cc saw was a quick vent saw as well. Gosh was there some weird damage to it, from cutting roofs. What's up with these 81 cc, flame-torched monsters?

your pick for the strongest 81cc and under saw

Does anyone have any experience with a solo 680? Looks to be an excellent saw. That 81 cc 52 mm bore x 38mm stroke imo, is a great place to be, regardless of the brand.

    ECHO Echo, Echo, Echo

Ferg, Go for it! 620pw is my main squeeze. It's exactly 1 lb lighter than a full wrap 372 xp, but does all the same stuff as a 70 cc saw. That long stroke, aggressive ignition timing and aggressive port timing, it punches WAY above its 60 cc engine size. I actually skip right over 70 cc stuff...

    ECHO Echo, Echo, Echo

Yep, It's a smart design on the 620 oiler gear: 2 piece. The worm gear is metal, the little gear inside the oiler is also metal. But the plastic sleeve acts as a fuse. Nother good one if u have the echo oiler gear removal tool and the installation tool is the metal worm gears on the later...

    ECHO Echo, Echo, Echo

Coupla hard years on the 620pw, was time to spin off that clutch and clean out the gunk. Grease that clutch bearing and replace that worn out rim sprocket. Holy sht! A STEEL oiler gear. Non of that plastic garbage that always strips out. What a brick-sht house of a saw. Love the filthy-good...

Thoughts on Rip Chain Brands and Quality

Cuts great. The oiler will over-oil a 42" bar. The saw doesn't even notice if it's a ripping chain or not pulls anything.

Thoughts on Rip Chain Brands and Quality

Sloughfoot, yep I've run a granberg grind. It's pointless and slow cutting. It also dulls faster. It does help saws like the 881 that lacks low end torque, to keep its rpms in the cut.

Echo 620, 501 and 390 - Air Filter sucks and we need help

Yep, the oem 620/590 filter is sufficient. I've had no problem with them, and I cut alot of dry fire killed spruce.

Thoughts on Rip Chain Brands and Quality

Here yah go Dan: https://www.ebay.com/itm/385818971917 It comes with a wheel that grinds 3/8 or .404. But I did have to get another wheel for .325 and 3/8 lp: https://www.ebay.com/itm/382041446081

Thoughts on Rip Chain Brands and Quality

I've milled with a half dozen different .404 chains on both an 881 magnum and a cs 1201. I've also milled for many years using 3/8 chain. The .404 chain stays sharp longer and stretches less than 3/8 chain, especially when using the 100+ cc saws. With 60-70 cc saws, I've also milled a bunch...

    Echo 7310 build thread

I've never cared for rpm-limited coils in any saw. Nor have I been a fan of any type of governor on carburetors. They oftentimes hinder the ease of tuning a ported saw.

    ECHO Echo, Echo, Echo

Thedude74, Yep, every saw has some little quirk that need attention. It sure is nice when the aftermarket offers an affordable fix. Another echo saw with quirks: cs 8000 or 800p: The carburetor is too small after porting the saw. The old 8000p carb fixes that purdy well. Another quirk, the...
